Online Magazines: February 2012 Issues

February 2012’s lineup of online magazines are:

• Sentinel Nigeria’s Issue #8, November 2011 – January 2012 has essays by Tolu Ogunlesi and Sylva Nze Ifedigbo.  There is lots of fiction and poetry as well.
• Words Without Borders has Volume VI: International Graphic Novels

February brings our annual showcase of the international graphic novel. From time travel in Buenos Aires to rebirth in postwar Beirut, starvation in Mao’s China and assimilation in 1950s Paris, these artist-writers delineate character and plot with their singular styles. See how Krzysztof Gawronkiewicz and Grzegorz Janusz, Mazen Kerbaj, Li Kunwu and Philippe Ôtié, Nawel Louerrad, Héctor G. • I’ve discovered a new journal, Kweli.  From its Content Manager:

Our original thought for January/February was to feature literature on civil-rights themes honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In a meeting with Kweli board members, the conversation quickly moved to the broader concepts of protest and social justice and morphed into discussion of “Occupy Wall Street.” “Could we put out a call for submissions on ‘occupation literature’?” “Was there such a thing?” We did, and there is.
